EASTER EGGS JUMP FROM DVDS AND VIDEO GAMES TO COMICS

Zoom Suit Features Hidden Phone Numbers and Internet Flash Movies

March 21, 2006, Palm Beach, FL – A slew of surprises await comic fans on April 26 when Zoom Suit #1 hits comic shops featuring an overt cover contest and a gaggle of covert “Easter Eggs” revealing phone numbers and web sites that take readers out of the comic and into the middle of an internet conspiracy. The term “Easter Eggs” stems primarily from the world of DVDs. A bridge easily gapped since Zoom Suit is based upon an award-winning animated short.

“We hid a few Easter Eggs on our web site as well as on our DVDs, so placing them in Zoom Suit #1 was a logical evolution,” explained Zoom Suit creator John Taddeo. “However, we took it pretty far. There are at least three Flash films to find and a hidden phone number as well.”

Hunting for these media morsels is fast becoming a cultural pursuit. Easter Eggs abound in DVDs and video games and have even found their way onto numerous other forms of media. With its high resolution printing and premium production values, Zoom Suit is a logical choice to introduce Easter Eggs to the comic format.

“Get ready for the Boom when Zoom Suit hits comic store shelves this April,” said William Insignares, owner of Demolition Comics. “With its iron-clad storytelling, meticulous metallic art throughout and hidden secrets, this hot book is bound to sell out fast!”

The quest in Zoom Suit begins with an alien “Zeta Reticulan” phone number and ends with prizes such as a limited edition Zoom Suit DVD signed by the creative team. In addition, many other surprises are peppered throughout the entire four issue limited series.

“The comic industry has been doing some phenomenal things in storytelling and art for the past several years,” said Phil Boyle, owner of comic book chain Coliseum of Comics.  “I’m very excited about Zoom Suit appealing to a much wider audience than some of the traditional comics, thereby bringing in a new generation of comic readers. There are a lot of great things happening in comics and Zoom Suit is one of them.”

Zoom Suit is easily one of the most impressive new comic book creations we have experienced in a decade,” said D.J. Stamper, CEO of The Comics Club in Brandon, Florida. “Zoom Suit has all the bits and pieces that fans demand: quality art, intriguing characters, solid story. This one is a top-of-the-list must-read!”

Now the only worry is will there be enough to satisfy the demand. Zoom Suit creator John Taddeo has been vocal in warning fans to pre-order at a local comic shop, as shelf copies will likely disappear quickly.

Zoom Suit #1 will be allocated. We do not have enough copies to fill all orders. Retailers will only receive 90 percent of their initial orders, so if you want to ensure yourself a copy, please contact your local comic shop right away.”
