Kids With Cameras to Feature Zoom Suit

Over 40 films have been selected from 14 different countries to be featured in The Kids With Cameras Film Festival.The festival is being held April 22, 2006 at MJC West Campus in Modesto California. The films range from award winning animated superhero shorts to “Through the eyes of a child” documentaries. The festival will be held at the Mary Stuart Rogers Center at MJC West Campus on Blue Gum Road in Modesto.

The Kids with Cameras Film and Photo Festival is an annual, competitive film festival presented by the Fireside Foundation, a non-profit educational organization dedicated to the preservation of independent film through education and exhibition. The  Festival set an internationally recognized standard of excellence in film production for children/teens and encourages the development of excellence in the production of film by and for children and teens.   The event is sponsored by Fujifilm USA.

The Festival, an extension of the eminently successful Kids With Cameras program, which provided cameras and instruction on their use to 40 under privileged kindergarten children. These cameras were used as part of their regular studies, complementing the written and oral materials on energy and the environment. Zoom Suit has appeared in over 64 festivals since the world premiere at the Palm Beach International Film Festival on April 18, 2005 where it won “Best Animation” from the Palm Beach Film Society.
