John Taddeo Wins Best Film Award at HERO CON!
The Best Film Award voted on by attendees at the 2006 Heroes Con in Charlotte NC
The audience was responsive and enjoyed themselves and then they were given time to vote on the films.
The Best Film Award voted on by attendees at the 2006 Heroes Con in Charlotte NC and winner of the grand prize of $500 went to John Taddeo’s “Behind the Music- Recalcitrant Jones & the Dead Beats”
The Best Original Interpretation Award awarded to the filmmaker who was able to best interpret the comic book story to their very own film version went to Rick Porven for “Tattoo Love Magic”.
The Visionary Award given to the filmmaker whose style and artistic abilities were aptly demonstrated throughout their excellent production went to Steven Shea for “Entombed”.
The Maverick Award for the filmmaker who was able to overcome adversity and budgetary constraints to produce an excellent professional film was given to Anthony Cothron for “Phase”
Pat Martin & Anthony Cothron with the Maverick Award The Best Comic to Film Adaptation Award given to the filmmaker whose technical abilities best adapted the comic story to the big screen went to Kendall Bruns and Josh Flowers for “Utter Chaos”.
Plans are being made for the films as well as other special content to be included in a special DVD in the new Giant-Sized Students of the Unusual Extra Credit Special #1 which will be in Diamond’s August Previews. Special Retailer-only preview issues were handed out to retailers at the show and were quickly run through. More will be brought to San Diego as the promotional tour continues.
